The project is relevant to the analysis of surface movements along three infrastructural corridors in Italy (the North Adriatic Corridor, the South Adriatic Corridor, and the Milan–Montalto Corridor) through the geomorphological interpretration of the SqueeSAR™ satellite interferometric data provided by TRE ALTAMIRA. The analysis was conducted using data from ALOS-2 (L-band) and Sentinel-1 (C-band) satellites acquired between 2015 and 2024, covering a total area of hundreds of square kilometers.
SqueeSAR™ technique allows for the monitoring of ground displacement over time without installing ground-based instrumentation and by analyzing natural or anthropogenic elements visible from space (Permanent Scatterers and Distributed Scatterers). The integration of L-band and C-band radar data ensured high spatial coverage in both urbanized areas and agricultural or vegetated zones.
Interferometric data were interpreted by integrating them with geomorphological information, hazard maps, and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) analysis. This study enabled the identification of numerous point clusters characterized by surface movements, providing an updated overview of the evolution of instability phenomena along the analyzed corridors and supporting the design of new power lines.
